AECOM is seeking an experienced professional to join our highly collaborative and motivated staff in our Roanoke, Virginia office’s Building Engineering practice\. The Mechanical Engineer IV will perform the following duties: + Lead the preparation of deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and cost estimates related to heating, ventilating, and air\-conditioning \(HVAC\) and plumbing systems for commercial and governmental facilities + Deliver complete, accurate and coordinated project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying client contractual obligations + Perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents + Perform construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, construction inspections, and responding to client requests + Work within a project team environment + Maintain and organize all project related documentation + Coordinate work with other project disciplines + Plan and organize work that follows a defined process + Work independently and make technical decisions based on building code interpretation as well as company, client and industry standard practices **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program + U\.S\. Citizen and eligible to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance + Valid Professional Engineer license recognized by a state licensing board + 8\+ years experience with an engineering firm designing HVAC and for plumbing commercial and institutional facilities + The ability to work with, interpret, and apply national and local building codes + AutoCAD Experience + Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing + Strong written communication, presentation, and client interface skills + Ability to take responsibility for given tasks with limited supervision while proactively developing standard practices and new techniques + Physically able to climb ladders and enter utility manholes, tunnels, and other mechanical equipment spaces **Preferred Qualifications** + Federal or healthcare project experience strongly desired + Experience with BIM \(Revit or AECOsim\) software **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
