• Understanding of personal role in supporting marketing of company services by delivering high-quality, accurate work products to clients
• Ability to write and convey thoughts in a clear, concise manner
• Experience with seismic data acquisition methods and systems
• Experience in time-series analysis and modification software
• Experience in probabilistic seismic hazard analysis methods
• Ability to program in Fortran

Job Description: The Seismic Hazards Group within the Water Division of AECOM is actively seeking a motivated, highly talented seismologist for immediate employment in the Oakland, CA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in seismology, specifically including earthquake engineering. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Studies and interprets seismic data to locate earthquakes and earthquake faults
• Reviews, analyzes and interprets data from seismographs and geophysical instruments
• Analyzes ground motion models and their applicability to complex seismological problems
• Performs probabilistic and deterministic seismic hazard analyses due to ground shaking and surface faulting
• Performs site response analyses
• Selection and modification of time histories for the development of ground motions for design consistent with various state, national and international regulatory frameworks
• Plans, executes, analyzes and reports seismological investigations and studies
• Provides technical peer review of seismic hazard reports and other deliverables
• Applies earth science and geophysics to study problems encountered in construction projects, such as tunnels, dams, spillways, dikes, levees, power plants, and transportation projects
• Supports the preparation of proposals and assists with determining budget and schedule constraints
