**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** The Specialist II uses specialized skills to support SH&E initiatives and more complex projects across various areas\. Performs work under general, moderate oversight of daily work\. Requires proven ability to apply professional concepts\. Provides technical assistance with our subcontractor qualification program, training documentation, medical surveillance, updates to our website and responding to various SH&E requests from operations\.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
+ Practical skills to effectively understand and apply H&S requirements in an industrial setting
+ Responsible for the management of the Syracuse & Albany office’s Safety, Health and Environment \(SH&E\) program and ensure local implementation of the company program
+ Ensure implementation of the AECOM’s Safety Program
+ Ensure compliance of requirements for emergency responses, environmental site assessment and characterization, remedial pilot testing, remedial system design, decision making, construction, installation, operations, and maintenance activities
+ Schedule new hires for their pre\-placement drug and alcohol testing and physical
+ New employee indoctrination: train new employees on corporate health and safety program, answer any questions, and provide new employees with proper PPE required for their job
+ Inventory and order PPE to maintain stock
+ Schedule monthly HSSE meetings, aide in the presentation of the topic with the scheduled presenter
+ Track all MMP, American Red Cross and OSHA trainings, and schedule as required
+ Conduct monthly SH&E inspections
+ Conduct project/construction site safety audits
+ Establish and maintain proper site storage areas, drum labeling and segregation with tech services group
+ Review, maintain and update site specific health and safety plans
+ Maintain designated health and safety bulletin board
+ Post annual OSHA 300 log
+ Conduct monthly warehouse, fire extinguisher and First Aid cabinet inspections, generate reports and send to corporate SH&E
+ Generate a quarterly SH&E report and provide to corporate
+ Assist in the development of task specific JSAs
+ Conduct Loss Prevention Observations \(LPOs\) during various field activities
+ Investigate all incidents, follow up with required reporting
+ Investigate all vehicle accidents; follow up with reporting and any insurance claim involvement
+ Manage Driver’s Alert program\. Meet with employees on calls received as applicable, complete forms
+ Task management, data analysis, subcontractor coordination, and report writing
+ Ability to effectively communicate with project managers from the field and accurately and thoroughly document field tasks
+ Organized, detail oriented, with excellent communication skills
+ Excellent technical writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Minimum 2\+ years of experience
+ Demonstrate working knowledge of applicable federal and state environmental regulations \(RCRA, etc\.\) as they apply to current or potential projects and individual areas of expertise
+ Strong organizational skills
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Ability to successfully handle the demands of multiple priorities \(e\.g\., be able to execute project work and proposals simultaneously\)
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
