**Job Summary**
The project is working at a MODOT site doing Traffic Control, Dispatching and Customer Service\. It is working out of the St Louis office\.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
+ Assesses large volumes of data \(both static and real\-time\) from a wide variety of sources to detect possible roadway incidents
+ Monitors the Advanced Transportation Management System software, checks road sensor data and confirms the data using CCTV video
+ Maintains telephone or radio communications with first responders, field technicians, 911 Operators and public service agencies\. Once assessment is complete, determines the facts and severity of traffic incidents and prepares the information for dissemination to the motoring public
+ Responsible for the maintenance, quality, accuracy and timeliness of all information disseminated, including Dynamic Message Signs, Changeable Message Signs, public traveler information websites and internal notifications
+ Monitors First Responder agencies and various communication channels to assess traffic conditions
+ Activates appropriate response\(s\) to detected and/or reported incidents; includes dispatch of first responders and location assistance to active event scenes
+ Uses Closed Circuit Television \(CCTV\) to monitor major portions of the metropolitan surface transportation network
+ Generates, receives, and responds to calls pertaining to various persons/organizations/agencies
+ Records all appropriate Control Room activities in an incident database
+ Makes appropriate entries in the statewide traveler information system databases
+ Remotely monitor the Lindbergh Tunnel
+ Provides phone support for client agency\. Regularly interacts with public in call center environment
+ Creates call reports for agency response and maintains knowledge of current MoDOT projects, policies and resources\. Provides public with complete and accurate information
+ When directed by the DOT, functions as a member of Emergency Response Team
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High School diploma or equivalent
+ Proficiency using Microsoft products
+ Self\-motivated and excellent at multi\-tasking
+ Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast paced environment
+ Desire to learn and thoroughly understand multiple procedures
+ Thorough knowledge of local roadway system
+ Ability to meet rigorous attendance standards
+ This is a 24/7/365 Operation, applicant must have the ability to work all shifts including: nights, major holidays and weekends\. Long hours may be required in emergency situations
+ Valid driver’s license required
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Previous dispatch experience
+ Previous military experience
+ Map reading skills
