Minimum Requirements: Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High School diploma/GED required. Electronics degree preferred but not required. Experience reading schematic diagrams, use an Oscilloscope, Multi-Meter, and ability to perform basic electronic troubleshooting skills required. Good communications and analytical skills; Experience and working knowledge of systems such as UYQ-21, UYA-4, UYQ-43 or UYQ-7 and integrated software application programs are preferred but not required. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Most positions involve work typical of office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Some positions involve work in environments (e.g., shipboard, labs, outside locations, etc.) where mechanical equipment, weapons, etc. are being installed, tested, analyzed/monitored, operated, and/or maintained. Equipment may be loud and noisy or have exposed moving components. Such positions may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
Job Description: AECOM has an opportunity for an Engineering Technician I to join our team in Crane, Indiana!
Purpose and Scope:
Provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems.
Essential Responsibilities:
1) Support production of technical documents and drawings.
2) Research technical issues for input to reports and studies.
3) Support fabrication and testing of hardware and software systems.
4) Assist in design, coding and documentation of software products.
5) Establish and maintain a filing system, databases and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
6) Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication and other engineering tasks as needed.
7) Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications and test procedures.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
