**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** The Environmental Division of AECOM is looking for a creative, motivated self\-starter and team player to support the Sustainability and Environmental Management Group of our Germantown, Maryland office with its growing its hazardous materials and asbestos abatement survey and design practice\. The appropriately qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate skills in performing building hazardous materials surveys as well as subsurface contamination sampling and reporting\.

Our Germantown Maryland Sustainability and Environmental Management Group’s office is a center of excellence for a variety of building hazardous materials surveys and abatement designs , environmental assessment, investigation, and survey services to federal, state, and local government agencies, Fortune 500 corporations, and many manufacturing and commercial clients\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Perform asbestos, leaded\-paint and other building hazardous materials surveys and prepare associated reports
+ Collect subsurface soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis and prepare associated subsurface sampling reports
+ The ability to travel to participate in extended assignments
+ Research and properly apply Federal, State, and Local asbestos, leaded\-paint, and hazardous materials related regulations
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Minimum BS in Environmental Science, or the Geosciences
+ 2\+ years of experience performing asbestos and building hazardous materials surveys and preparing survey reports, building hazardous materials sampling and report writing
+ Proficient in MS Excel and Word programs
+ AHERA Asbestos Inspector
+ OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
+ Must have a high degree of self\-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision
+ Solid report writing and organization skills
+ Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
+ US citizenship required
