**About the Business Line** **Mining/Minerals & Industry**
We deliver mines, mineral processing plants and associated infrastructure across some of the world’s richest resource regions including Australia, New Zealand, the Americas, Asia and Africa\. We provide mining support and infrastructure for surface minerals projects, including ports, heavy rail, haul roads, airfields, camp facilities, buildings, power and water supply services\.
**Job Summary** Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, the Design Draftsman will be required to design customer and application specific designs\. Excellent skills in Microstation and Inventor are required\. You will be responsible for the production of Detail Design and 3D Models\. You will design Mechanical Engineering equipment for Mining and Materials Handling applications\.
On a daily basis you will:
• Design heavy engineering equipment with Microstation 3D
• 2D AutoCAD drawings
• Detail design with Microstation
• 3D Design and 3D models utilizing Microstation Software
• Design heavy equipment
• Creation of the BOM’s
• Utilize your Microstation skills and become an expert
• Make engineering changes to existing designs
• Communicate with clients and Lead Engineers
• Ensure design complies with Standard
Specific requirements:
• Tertiary qualification or time served
• A minimum of 5 years drafting in Microstation and Inventor
• Excellent 3D Microstation and Inventor skills
• Very good AutoCAD 2D drafting skills
• Generate 3D models of mining equipment
• Excellent mechanical design skills
• Participate in daily and weekly meetings
• Good knowledge of Vault
• 5 years’ experience within a heavy manufacturing environment in South Africa
• Good hydraulic skills
• Strong people skills
• Dedicated and committed
• Self\-starter
• Strong MS Office
**Minimum Requirements**
+ A minimum of 5 years drafting Microstation & Inventor experience
+ 5 years’ experience within a Heavy Manufacturing Environment in South Africa
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Tertiary qualification or time served
+ Knowledge and experience in Microstation will be a definite advantage
