• Familiarity with commonly accepted field data collection methods, data review, and preparation of scientific documents
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Word and Excel and database applications
• Proficiency in technical writing
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with current annual refresher and 8-hour supervisor certification
• Valid driver’s license

Job Description: AECOM is seeking a Site Technician to join our project site located near Albers, IL and/or the nearby field office. This position will report to the Site Supervisor. We are seeking a dynamic individual capable of working with a team of professionals either participating, assisting, or leading efforts to conduct soil and groundwater sampling at undeveloped, industrial, and hazardous waste sites. Assignments usually include one or more of the following: field sampling, and investigations, report preparation and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in a specific narrow area.
Responsibilities include:
• Conduct daily “drive-through” inspections at the site
• Collect and enter site data into database
• Manage site data reporting
• Prepare and distribute daily, weekly monthly, quarterly and annual data reporting
• Collect lake and pond water level measurements, extraction well and pump station meter readings, and water quality samples from the lakes, passive treatment system ponds
• Collect NPDES water quality samples at the required schedule when discharges occur
• Arrange for water quality sample transport to contract laboratory for analyses
• Supervise on-site LPS program by issuing subcontractor work permits, reviewing JSAs
• Scheduling and performing Loss Prevention Observations (LPOs)
• Conducting Self Performed Safety Assessment (SPSA) spot checks and safety briefings
• Reporting and participating in incident investigations
• Maintain local filing system for site-related documents
• Track and report site expenditures
