Job Description: The Process Engineering Group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Graduate Process Engineer for immediate employment in New Orleans, Louisiana office.
The successful candidate will work on assigned tasks under the direction of a more experienced lead process engineer. Work may also include in-plant assignments as part of a URS project team or a seconded assignment under the client's supervision. In order to progress in their career, entry level process engineers are not only expected to ask for guidance when they don't understand what they are doing or what is expected, but to also use each assignment to add to their knowledge of industry practices and the application of engineering theory, so that they can progress to more responsible roles in the planning and execution of work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Performing basic process engineering calculations including: heat and material balances, process simulations, fluid hydraulics, relief protection studies, and equipment sizing or rating.
• Developing piping and instrumentation diagrams and process flow diagrams.
• Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
• Keeping the supervising engineer advised as to status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems.
• Providing technical assistance and guidance to other engineering disciplines.
• Continually upgrading technical knowledge and capabilities.
• Assuring quality, quantity, and completeness of the engineering tasks assigned.
• Planning and scheduling engineering efforts associated with assigned projects.
• Maintaining timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports regarding assigned engineering activities.
• Maintaining proper engineering files and records.
• Performing other engineering related work as required.
