We embed sustainability principles in every design\. **Job Summary** The Design & Consulting Services Division is actively seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist \(IH\) for immediate employment in the San Diego, California office\. The appropriately qualified candidate will provide comprehensive IH program support to Navy commands/activities in the Southwest\. These services include: conducting periodic IH surveys; identification, measurement, and assessment of workplace environmental stressors; recommending effective control measures to eliminate hazardous exposures; monitoring of potentially health\-hazardous stressors to ensure that control measures are effective; and providing IH\- related support in matters of environmental health and pollution control\. Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of health, safety and environment \(HSE\) discipline to achieve compliance with health and safety standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below: + Evaluate existing engineering controls and personal protective equipment to recommend solutions to minimize worker exposure + Conduct initial IH walk\-through surveys in industrial shop areas + Develop prioritized sampling and analysis plan based on observed health\-hazard stressors + Conduct routine and non\-routine IH\-related sampling with requisite calibrated equipment for a variety of air contaminants + Conduct noise and radiation monitoring + Write reports summarizing the results of sampling activities + Develop and conduct basic shop\-level training &/or sample results presentation + Develop, implement and maintain health and safety programs, systems and procedures + May participate in large, specialized, complex project or multiple projects + May provide subject matter expertise to other AECOM employees &/or US Navy or US Marine Corps personnel + May administer a health and safety program on a small or medium\-sized project + Provide supervision of IH Tech personnel executing developed IH sampling plans + Conduct IAQ investigations **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree in industrial hygiene \(IH\), environmental health , health physics, chemistry, biology, toxicology, environmental engineering or related field + 5\+ years of relevant experience + Solid background in Industrial hygiene concepts, principles, and practices to evaluate physical and chemical hazards such as noise, ionizing, and non\-ionizing radiation, ventilation + Ability to utilize and calibrate industrial hygiene measurement equipment such as personal sampling pumps, indoor air quality meters, infrared analyzers, and moisture meters to evaluate environment stresses + Carry out routine and non\-routine surveys + Working toward American Board of Industrial Hygiene certification + U\.S\. Citizenship required along with the ability to obtain and maintain a U\.S\.
