**Job Summary**
+ Responsible for the development and implementation of health and safety management plan specific to the project\.
+ Developing and Coordinating of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, SWP’s
+ Ensure that compliance to the plan specific requirements of audits and surveillance are carried out\.
+ Responsible in health and safety training requirements and accurate record keeping\.
+ Responsible for reporting and filling of reports\.
+ Maintains accurate site statics on manpower and safety and environmental requirements\.
+ Supports site supervision in their daily duties and ensuring full compliance to task hazards and works assessments\.
+ Participants in weekly meeting by addressing the necessary statistics and health safety portions of the meeting as well as supporting and mentoring supervisory staff\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ At least 3 years as a South African Health and Safety Officer
+ Conduct induction training
+ Verify suitability of Contractors’ H&S plans, and monitor compliance
+ Stop work that is carried out in an unsafe manner
+ Analyse and report on H&S performance and advise on appropriate action
+ Root cause investigations into incidents and near misses
+ Ensures all factors involving H&S are addressed
+ Maintains close contacts to local Department of Labour Inspectorate
+ Checks conformance of construction plant to statutory requirements and regulations
+ Promotes good housekeeping of the works
+ Organises awareness campaigns
+ Conducts H&S walkabouts and directs corrective actions
+ Implements a Waste Management Plan
