Job Description: Perform diversified duties in the preparation of professional graphic illustrations of various types for reports, presentations, and conferences. Duties involve knowledge of graphic design, photography, and computers. May serve as a consulting member of an Interactive Courseware (ICW) development team. Determines requirements for computer graphics and integrates them in the ICW. May train and perform quality control functions for other employees. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Create free-hand ink drawings, illustrations and cartoons for reports, publications, presentations and displays. 2. Coordinate large scale or complex exhibits or displays. 3. Create art for publication, create mechanicals for printing/reproduction. 4. Coordinate off-site printing of materials developed in graphics. 5. May direct the work of the Graphics shop in the absence of the Work Package Leader/Section Supervisor. 6. Assist other graphics staff in solving graphics/illustrating problems. 7. Comply with all applicable policies, procedures and administrative directives. 8. Comply with all applicable and relative environmental safety and health policies, procedures, directives and orders. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
