Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary**
The Environmental Department of AECOM Denver is actively seeking a highly talented candidate to be part of the Colorado Environmental, Health, and Safety \(EHS\) Compliance Team, working with engineers and scientists to provide industrial hygiene project support to our clients and AECOM project teams\. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate established skills and technical knowledge of industrial hygiene in industrial settings\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Conducts air exposure monitoring for a variety of air contaminants
+ Conducts noise and radiation monitoring
+ Writes reports summarizing the results of sampling activities
+ Evaluates existing engineering controls and personal protective equipment to recommend solutions to minimize worker exposure
+ Participates in internal AECOM or external client EHS audits
+ Provides site safety support and oversight for field projects involving hazardous waste, fall hazards, confined spaces, and construction
+ Develops and reviews Safe Work Plans, Health and Safety Plans, and Job Safety Analyses with staff in AECOM Departments \(Environmental, Engineering, Facilities, and Transportation\) to provide processes that protect AECOM workers
+ Develops near\-miss/safety observation summaries and training programs for identified trends
+ Researches EHS\-related technical questions and provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice
+ Mentors junior staff or staff without industrial hygiene experience in the requirements of an industrial hygiene program
+ Supports projects involving OSHA's Process Safety Management \(PSM\) or EPA's Risk Management Program \(RMP\) requirements
+ Works with Business Line Leaders and Project Managers to support business development initiatives
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in safety, health, industrial hygiene, environmental engineering, or demonstrated equivalent
+ Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
+ Experience with industrial hygiene tasks including air/noise monitoring at industrial facilities, radiation monitoring, evaluating exposure limits and engineering controls, and selecting appropriate personal protective equipment for job tasks
+ Ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, confined\-space entry, climb ladders, work from heights, and can lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
+ Tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
+ Ability to frequently support project work in the Denver Metro and surround areas\. There may be occasional travel outside the Denver Metro area
+ Knowledge of most standards within 29 CFR 1910
+ This role requires travel nationwide; must be willing to travel up to 40\-50 percent
