**Job Summary** AECOM is seeking a **Senior Geotechnical Manager** for the Clifton, New Jersey office location\.
The 20 person Geotechnical Engineering Group provides a wide range of design and construction management services throughout the NYC Metropolitan area as well as in support of our national network of offices, for exciting and challenging projects, such as high rise buildings, bridges and highways, slope stabilization, levees, dams, landfills and other infrastructure related facilities that require all facets of geotechnical engineering, including subsurface investigations, soil and rock engineering, earthquake engineering, driven piles and drilled shafts, anchors and tie\-backs, instrumentation and micro\-tunneling\.
Responsibilities include:
+ Demonstrated ability in maintaining project budgets and schedules
+ Group management and business development expertise, planning, reporting and leadership
+ Developing growth plans, including strategic hiring
+ Determining workload for the group, including short and long term business goals and objectives\.
+ Participating in business development activities, including planning, scheduling, client relations, marketing, proposal preparation, and presentations
+ Determining and addressing the root causes of both personnel and project issues
+ Tracking and reporting on the group's monthly financial performance, sales and backlog, and as necessary, developing corrective actions
+ Attending weekly operations meetings with office management
+ Establishing, promoting, and ensuring quality on all projects and work performance and safety on all field projects
+ Monitoring and managing the group's weekly sold time and direct labor to ensure goals are met
+ Conducting departmental meetings on a weekly basis
+ Planning, coordinating and monitoring projects to completion
+ Pro\-actively monitoring projects to identify and address financial, safety and liability issues
+ Monitoring the group's timely invoice preparation and submittal to clients in accordance with office goals and monitoring and following up on the group's invoice collections
+ Performing and reviewing engineering calculations
+ Assigning tasks to, and directing, engineers, technicians and administrative staff
+ Identifying personnel needs, creating hiring requisitions, interviewing prospective employees, and developing offers
+ interacting with clients and having some business development and marketing responsibilities including winning new work from existing clients and winning work with new clients
+ Demonstrated ability managing a Geotechnical engineering group
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors Degree of Science in Civil Engineering or related field with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering
+ Minimum of 15 total years of related experience, which includes project management, budget management, business development and client interaction or a demonstrated equivalent combination of education, experience and skills
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience performing geotechnical engineering analyses, and report and proposal preparation
+ Professional Engineer's License \(PE\)
+ Experience in the management of technical engineering staff, including management of staff productivity and scheduling, staff reviews, salary assessments, mentoring and strategic hiring
+ Strong project management skills, including the ability to maintain project budgets and schedules, and delegate work to junior engineers
+ Excellent interpersonal, organizational and oral and written communication skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Masters Degree of Science in Civil Engineering or related field with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering a plus but not required
+ Professional Engineer's License \(PE\) in the state of NY and/or NJ a plus but not required
