High School graduate or demonstrated equivalent. 2. 5 years of experience as an industrial or commercial HVAC maintenance technician, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. 3. EPA approved CFC certification. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Training or certification with Environmental Specialties Climate controlled rooms, Stability walk-in and reach-in Incubators. 2. Knowledge and/or training in building automation controls. 3. Working knowledge of building energy management systems. 4. Experience with boiler and chiller operation. 5. Posses a strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and a desire to learn, understand and apply basic theory of refrigeration systems. 6. Experience working in a Computerized Maintenance Management environment. 7. Experience working with Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, and Power Point) 8. Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams. Additional Information: • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. • This position may require a valid Driver’s License. • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location. • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules. Other Attributes: • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends. Physical Requirements: • Have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. • Have the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift. • Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift. • Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift. • Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift. • Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift. • Have the ability to walk extensively through out the plant for shift. • Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. Job Description: URS, an AECOM company, is seeking an Industrial HVAC Technician IV in Cambridge, MA contingent on the award of new business. The Industrial HVAC Technician IV is responsible for providing advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance on the industrial or commercial HVAC equipment. Will also respond and provide service and feedback to the customer on hot and cold calls while utilizing Automated Building Controls training. Essential Functions: • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, dryers, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary. • Utilizes the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment. • Assists lower level technicians with work assignments and coaches as appropriate. • Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends facilities reliability improvements. • Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). • Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills in order to complete assignments. • Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards. • Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance. • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations. • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required. • Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions. • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work. • Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment. • Flexible in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer. • Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
