**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** AECOM is seeking an entry\-level Fisheries Technician based in our Sacramento, CA office\. The position is a part\-time variable or “on call” position, which means the employee may have no work on some weeks and up to 60 hours on others\. Weekend work may be required\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
+ Catching multiple species of fish via hook\-and\-line sampling
+ Ability to tow, operate and maintain boats and engines
+ Inserting of multiple tag types into fish
+ Ability to identify freshwater fish species present in Northern California
+ Must be flexible and willing to accept assignments in various locations throughout California; however, the majority of work will be located in the Sacramento region
+ Ability to work independently and unsupervised
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Associate's Degree in related discipline
+ 0\-2 years previous work experience
+ The ability and desire to perform extensive fieldwork during adverse weather conditions on field assignments ranging from several days to weeks at a time will be essential
+ The ability to safely navigate boats on unfamiliar waterways, some of which are tidally influenced
+ Efficiently capture multiple species with hook\-and\-line are essential to this position
+ Must demonstrate a level of boating and angling experience with an emphasis on the California Delta
+ Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are fundamental
