The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in transportation planning studies, corridor analyses, preliminary design studies, and final design of transportation improvement projects. The Principal Transportation Engineer in the AECOM Albuquerque Office is a key position and will report to the Highways/Design Build Group Leader. The position includes responsibility for business development, marketing and management of transportation planning studies, preliminary design studies and final design of transportation improvement projects. Clients include New Mexico Department of Transportation as well as counties, municipalities, regional planning agencies, and transit agencies in New Mexico. The successful candidate will serve as project manager and/or technical task leader on selected projects and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with others in the AECOM Phoenix, Tucson and Salt Lake City offices. The position will be instrumental in informing the decision process to pursue projects and select the team and subconsultants. The position will identify potential clients and projects, develop and implement pursuit strategies, develop and manage client relations, and monitor client satisfaction. On selected projects, the position may serve as the technical task leader, or reviewer/advisor. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed above.
