Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary**
The Environmental Group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Air Quality Scientist for immediate employment in the Air Quality Permitting & Compliance Team in the Houston, TX office\. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an educational background in analytical chemistry instrumentation and environmental science\. Primary responsibilities include providing support for long and short term air monitoring projects in Houston, Southeast Texas, and the greater Gulf Coast\. Travel expectation up to 50%\. Incumbent will spend time performing data validation and scientific analysis of resulting data sets\. This position reports to the Environmental Permitting & Compliance Team and Unit Leader\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Provide technical support for operation and maintenance of instrumentation in support of air monitoring projects
+ Provide data quality and data analysis for air monitoring projects
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor or Masters in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Meteorology, or related Environmental Degree
+ Entry Level up to 3\-years experience
+ Experience in Microsoft Office \(Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\), Excel VBA desired
+ Must have strong oral presentation skills, strong written communication skills, and strong math skills
+ Strong skills and interest in chromatography, data analysis, and quality control procedures
+ Working knowledge of air quality regulatory issues in Texas
+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre\-employment substance abuse test
+ Must be a self\-starter and work well with others
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or Demonstrated high grades in analytical chemistry classes
+ Research or professional experience with chromatography systems
+ Experience working in an analytical lab
+ Computer programming skills relating to data analysis or data visualization
