Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or demonstrated equivalent. 2. Six years of experience in Electrical Power Distribution or a related field, including power distribution systems design and operation. 3. Knowledge of Micro Station or similar Computer Aided Design System. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Experience in design and operation of power distribution systems at 13.8Kv and below. 2. Experience with MS Office, MS Project, Visio, AutoCAD, and SKM software 3. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 4. Exceptional project coordination, communication and people skills. 5. Project Management and Safety Training. 6. OSHA 30 Hours Training for Construction Industry certification within the last 3 years. 7. Medium Voltage Arcflash and Electrical Safety Training within the last 3 years. 8. Familiarity with and understanding of central plant utilities systems and equipment to include electrical, chillers, cooling towers, steam boilers, air compressors and associated piping, and other related equipment. 9. Experience with PLC’s, Fire Alarm/Security System operation and maintenance, Carrier Building Automation System. 10. Familiarity with IEEE, NFPA and NETA standards. Physical Requirements: • Have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. • Have the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs. • Must be able to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color coding. • Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, and kneel repetitively during shift. • Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for a shift. • Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for a shift. • Have the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant for a shift. • Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. • Demonstrates consistent, effective and efficient written and oral communication skills. Job Description: URS, an AECOM company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer V in Columbus, GA! Typical work schedule is 7:00am – 3:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand. This engineer is responsible for supporting Facilities Management with the preventive and predictive maintenance program for the site’s electrical distribution system, including the Medium Voltage (13.2Kv) primary distribution system and the secondary 4,160 volt and 480 volt power distribution systems. In addition, the electrical engineer will provide project management and field design support for the Facilities & Services Capital Projects Engineering Team and perform other duties as directed by the Program Manager and/or the client. Essential Functions: • Understands and complies with all Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) programs and procedures. • Manages the electrical medium and low voltage (13.8KV, 4,160V & 480V) power distribution, equipment grounding, building controls, lighting and security systems. • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs a variety of electrical equipment, controls and systems including but not limited to the facilities electrical power and lighting infrastructure and on the site’s low and medium voltage utilities systems. • Plans and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and facilities • Serves as an active member of Projects Engineering integrated team. • Performs administrative tasks such as developing work plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs). • Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment conditions, specifications, company or government restrictions, and construction feasibility • Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings • Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities services and parts acquisition • Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor materials, preparation, and other related costs. • Inspects or directs the inspection of electrical testing, construction and installation progress to insure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. • Works independently (i.e. with minimal supervision) as well as within the context of a team environment. • Trains, assists, and coaches Facilities Maintenance Technicians, as appropriate and required. • Safely performs functions of the position to insure adherence to established safety guidelines such as Arcflash safety procedures, job hazards analysis (JHAs), lockout/tagout, and the wearing of appropriate PPE by technicians and subcontractors performing electrical and other work under your direction. • Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions. • Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment. • Coordinates Annual Planned Electrical Shutdown and associated work with outside contractors • Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and regulations, and records retention. • Prepares and reviews plans, specifications, drawings and schedules to determine work phases and work priorities. • Inspects fieldwork to evaluate construction progress, efficiency of operation and cost control. • Ensures all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards. • Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
