Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary**
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Newport News office\. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Electrical Engineering, specific to Department of Defense, other federal and commercial clients\. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects\.Provide full design and design\-build RFP services, provide and review energy analysis, heating and cooling load analysis per ASHRAE and military designing criteria\.
Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:
+ Application of building codes, preparation of code studies, design drawings, and specifications, writing technical reports, letters, and other project communications with minimal supervision
+ Assist Senior Engineering Manager, provide electrical engineering support, project inspections, RFI support, scoping services of potential projects, attend design meetings, and support other planning functions
+ Provide design review services consisting of project design document reviews, shop drawings, code analysis, and survey reports, provide electrical engineering review and assist in the preparation of design analyses meeting the requirements of the US Air Force, Army, Navy, and other clients as appropriate
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program or related
+ Minimum 5 years' experience in Electrical Engineering
+ Sound technical knowledge of DoD and UFC code requirements, and applicable codes, design criteria, and standards for electrical engineering
+ Effective communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
+ Solid decision making, planning, and organizational skills
+ Ability to work in a team environment, which includes mentoring local office staff as well as working with staff in other AECOM offices
+ Occasional travel may be required
+ Due to the nature of the work assignments, candidate must be able to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance
+ Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
+ Ability to work on several project assignments simultaneously of intermediate and advanced complexity and provide technical direction for junior level staff
+ Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems while having a strong understanding of other disciplines and the role of the electrical engineer in a variety of A/E projects
+ Proficient in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and other software needed to produce reports and designs
+ Fundamental in Engineering \(FE\) registration required
+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre\-employment substance abuse test
+ Valid driver’s license required
