Minimum Requirements: URS Corporation is immediately hiring a qualified Aircraft Painter to support U.S. Navy aircraft maintenance operations at Norfolk, VA.
Shift work required.
Must have completed Paint and Finish School N-701-0013, C-600-3183, or industry equivalent.
High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum three (3) years recent and actual experience with aircraft painting / de-paint/ Corrosion control & preparation processes is required. Sands, treats, primes and paints E-2C/E-2D and C-2A aircraft.
Must have experience using media blast paint / corrosion removal equipment. Passing a normal color vision exam and maintaining a physical to wear a respirator is required.
Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned job related tasks is mandatory.
Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.
May be required to pass a U.S. Government background security check.

Job Description: Coats surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices. Removes old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper. Smoothes surface with sandpaper and steel wool. Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure paint adheres to surface. Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted. Paints insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface using stencils.
