**Job Summary**
AECOM is currently seeking a Survey and Rod Person to be based out of our Tampa, FL office\.
This discipline is responsible for conducting surveys to ascertain the location of natural features and man\-made structures on the earth's surface, underground, and underwater using electronic distance measuring equipment and other surveying instruments\.
+ Positions and holds the vertical rods, or targets that theodolite operators use for sighting to measure angles, distances and elevations
+ Lays out grids and determines horizontal and vertical control
+ Records survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings and sketches
+ Searches for section corners, property corners and survey points
+ Sets out and recovers stakes, marks and other monumentation
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High school diploma
+ 0\-2\+ years of experience
+ Physical demands and working conditions:
+ Must be able to clear vegetation along a line of sight with an assortment of tools
+ Perform bending, kneeling, standing, balancing, stooping, lifting and carrying objects weighing 30 pounds
+ Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights and on elevated platforms, and have a tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
+ Near vision \- the ability to see detail at close range within a few feet of the observer
+ Finger dexterity \- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble of very small objects
+ Valid driver's license with a good driving record and the ability to travel regularly, often long distances
