Our global network of top\-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries\. **Job Summary** The Environmental Construction Management Section of AECOM is actively seeking a motivated, organized, and independent environmental compliance inspector to ensure compliance on transportation construction projects in the central Maryland region, while working closely with construction contractors, construction managers, and major clients\. The successful candidate will be able to read plans and will be knowledgeable of best management practices implemented to keep large construction projects in compliance with environmental permits and approvals, with emphasis on sediment and erosion control\. This is a field position with multiple concurrent on\-going projects to inspect\. + Conducts multiple compliance inspections per day and documents findings in same\-day reports via a web\-based reporting system + Conducts follow\-up inspections to ensure that remedial actions are carried out in a timely manner\. Coordinates field changes and collaborates with contractors and regulatory agencies to proactively partner and resolve issues before they become problems **Minimum Requirements** + Environmental Science or equivalent college degree OR four years of construction inspection/management experience + 2 years of relevant environmental construction compliance experience or four years of construction inspection experience or equivalent + General understanding of construction plans, specifications, and permits with emphasis on Maryland sediment and erosion control practices + Quality Control/Quality Assurance inspections; report writing; basic computer skills \(Word, Excel, Internet\), ability to identify wetlands and other sensitive environmental resources **Preferred Qualifications** The ideal candidate would have the State of Maryland Green Card and Maryland State Highway Administration Yellow Card Certifications for Erosion and Sediment Control Compliance but these could be obtained upon hiring\. **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
