**Job Summary** The South West Area, Salt Lake City Water Resources Department of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water Resources Engineer for immediate employment in the Salt Lake City, Utah office\. Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate a strong academic background, and relevant work history, internship or otherwise in the field of Water Resources with a focus on watershed hydrology and surface water hydraulics\.
The candidate will support an established water resources team and help with day to day activities that include but are not limited to:
+ Preparing design drawings, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and assisting with proposals
+ Working with multi\-disciplinary design teams
+ Watershed hydrology and hydraulic design
+ Roadway drainage design
+ Riverine analysis
+ Civil site design
+ Design iterations to evaluate cost saving alternatives while meeting project design criteria
+ Innovative, creative problem solving approach
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
+ 2\+ years relevant experience in water resources engineering; candidates with a Master’s Degree counting towards 1 year of experience
+ Civil engineering with a focus on Water Resources including water supply, hydrology and hydraulics
+ Effective oral and written communication skills
+ Technical Skills:
- Army Corps of Engineers modeling software experience including HEC\-RAS, HEC\-HMS, HEC\-SSP
- CADD software experience including either Microstation or AutoCAD applications
- Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Technical writing skills sufficient to clearly and concisely communicate through daily correspondence, support writing for technical memoranda and project reports
- Classwork to support interdisciplinary assignments with geotechnical, environmental and structural engineers
+ Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Ability to work and manage time independently
+ A history of supporting successful project completion
+ Strong organizational and time management skills
+ A working knowledge of CADD and GIS software
