**Job Summary**
AECOM's Manchester Design Management team is engaged in significant projects across the UK and Ireland and have an immediate requirement to appoint a Senior Design Manager to join the business\.
The person appointed to this role will play a key part in expanding business operations through internal and external networking and will ideally have significant presence in the sector already\. This role will take reponsibility for some business development activity alongside hands\-on design management \- and will retain a client facing role\. The successful applicant will manage team members and play an active role in their development and day\-to\-day activities
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Recognised skills in carrying out a management role from a Lead designer’s perspective Clear and demonstrable understanding of the Design process Project and design programming skills on significant projects
+ Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to win work
+ The jobholder will be expected to display a range of competencies, both behavioural and technical in undertaking the role\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ The job holder will be expected to have a previous experience of running Design Teams and an understanding and empathy of the design process\.
+ Additionally, working within a team environment would be beneficial to the role\.
+ Although no specific qualification is required, an industry standard qualification in architecture or similar that demonstrates an understanding of the design and construction process would be beneficial\.
