URS Corporation, an AECOM company, is currently seeking a Risk Manager to support our office located in Germantown, MD. The successful candidate will assume a key role in developing, maintaining, and analyzing risks across a complex organization. The position will liaison between operations, AECOM Corporate and insurance brokers to ensure the company has proper insurance coverage and develop policies for risk management and loss control.
Responsibilities include:
• Work with operations and insurance brokers to coordinate the binding of insurance policies
• Review contracts for appropriate insurance language and assess insurance requirements are covered under existing insurance polices
• Ensure that subcontractors have insurance including general liability, auto liability, etc.
• Work with insurance brokers to obtain proper verbiage on certificates and endorsements, also to obtain the proper paperwork.
• Work with the Accounting Service Center to allocate insurance costs to benefiting contracts/organizations
• Assess the risk potential of projects and make insurance recommendations
• Strong business acumen, process management, and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency
• A critical thinker willing to question prevailing opinions and challenge the status quo
• A strong team player and contributor who will proactively seek out ways to move the organization forward and take initiative to drive process improvements
