Our global network of top\-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries\. **Job Summary** The AECOM Milwaukee Planning Services group is seeking a talented and engaged individual to assist us in providing a full range of services for planning projects, including all planning aspects for transportation, water resources, economic analysis for redevelopment, recreational planning, policy, environmental restoration and other projects\. This position is designed to introduce a planning graduate student to opportunities in consulting while gaining valuable hands\-on experience with real world projects\. The planning intern will assist our planning group with general planning tasks on a variety of projects, focusing on stakeholder and public involvement, project organization, public communications, project documentation, National Environmental Policy Act analysis and documentation among other tasks\. AECOM is a leading international consulting firm\. This position will give the successful candidate experience in many facets of planning and an opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects in Milwaukee and throughout the region\. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: + Work with a team from to organize, implement and document a series of outreach activities promoting the installation of Green Infrastructure on residential property\. This will include event organization, meeting facilitation and reporting\. It will also include helping to dig and plant rain gardens + Work to implement a series of targeted outreach efforts to support environmental justice analysis for roadway planning\. This will include data analysis, establishing contacts with community organizations, and meeting organization + Help to analyze and document policy analysis to improve the inclusion of small businesses in contracting with a municipality\. This will include data analysis and document editing + Support an environmental assessment for the design of a new movable bridge in a downtown setting\. This will include data analysis and documentation + Other exciting projects pending **Minimum Requirements** + Currently enrolled in a graduate level urban or regional planning program + Knowledge of planning concepts + Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks meeting deadlines simultaneously + Ability to communicate and interact effectively and successfully with project managers, team planners and engineers, other staff, and the public + Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office + Excellent writing skills + Willingness to engage with the general public **Preferred Qualifications** We are seeking a planning graduate student to round out our team of urban, transportation and environmental planners\.
