Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy “C” School or vocational school.
Two years’ maintenance experience involved in four (4) or more of the following electronic systems:
•Digital/analog signal processing;
•Synchro-servo circuits;
•Radar and radar theory;
•Electromechanical devices;
•Video signal processing and recording, large projectors;
•Communications (multiplexer equipment);
•Digital/analog computer systems;
•High voltage power supplies;
•Test equipment;
•Optical equipment;
•RF signal processing;
•Antenna systems;
•Low-voltage AC equipment;
•Auto-transfer (UPS) equipment.
Two years of formal technical training may be substituted for two years of experience. Must attend RF Radiation Awareness training. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
Must possess a valid state Driver’s License, must obtain and maintain a government Secret Clearance.
May be required to maintain current COMSEC certification, and Laser Safety Certification. May be required to obtain and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
Job Description: Performs systems operations and maintenance. Applies technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions.
Performs such tasks as: replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. Operates system under supervision. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked for accuracy.
Performs organizational and intermediate-level repair when supervised. Performs corrosion control on equipment/towers. Will be operationally qualified at designated tech level within 90 days of hiring or promotion. When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must cease work and notify lead, supervisor, or manager of all unsafe conditions. Must successfully complete all assigned training and ensure its entry into their training jacket, to include but not limited to monthly CTTR training assigned in SharePoint, government assigned training in TWMS, and all other non-recurring training as assigned. Will accurately document work performed in the IEMS.
May be required to travel up to 50 % in performance of work, government Joint Travel Regulations are applicable to all travel. Work is scheduled by the manager or supervisor based on mission schedule and fleet requirements. Mission support requires shifting of schedules to accommodate fleet readiness and to ensure crew rest. Other duties as assigned by management.
