**About the Business Line** **Water**
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\.
**Job Summary** The AECOM Water Business Line is hiring a Construction Site Safety Officer to be based in our New York City Bowery Bay WWTP Field Office to oversee safety procedures at five \(5\) construction sites \- Bowery Bay WWTP, Wards Island WWTP, Tallman Island WWTP, Jamaica WWTP, and 26th Ward WWTP in Queens, New York \(sites are approximately 10 miles apart\)\.
Responsibilities for this position include but not limited to:
+ Performs daily field safety inspections of construction progress to ensure site safety policies are being followed, in accord with NYCDEP Health and Safety approved plans
+ AECOM and Contractor Safety practices and procedures shall comply with quality, performance, and/or safety regulations and requirements approved Health and Safety Plans filed by AECOM and the Contractors
+ Relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish primary responsibilities at multiple sites\. Responsible for daily, work safety inspections to ensure “safe site” conditions
+ Provides on\-the\-job safety orientation training to new AECOM employees
+ Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing safety inspection duties
+ Performs daily safety compliance field inspections and maintains inspection records
+ Prepares monthly EH&S Reports to provide DEP BEDC EHS monthly safety Metrics into NYC tracking database
+ EHS metrics must be submitted monthly for each consultant and contractor
+ Participates in NYC DEP Environmental Health and Safety punch list inspections, Observe and monitor safety precautions during testing, and commissioning of new facilities
**Minimum Requirements**
+ College degree in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences
+ 10\+ years safety related work experience
+ Certified Industrial Hygienist \(CIH\)
+ OSHA 30\-Hour Construction Safety Certificate
+ 40\-Hour Hazwoper Certificate
+ Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office – Word and Excel software
+ Valid Driver’s License
+ Personal Automobile for transportation between five \(5\) sites \(mileage consideration $0\.55/mile\)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Certified Construction Safety Professional \(CSP\)
+ NYDEP Experience
+ Other agency experience preferred NYCT, PANYNJ and/or NYSDOT
