**Job Summary**
We are currently seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our growing bridge group in Louisiana\. Based in Baton Rouge \(preferred\) or New Orleans, this position will include not only exciting and challenging projects for our Louisiana clients, but also support for our regional bridge practice across the Gulf Coast from Texas to Mississippi and involvement across the nation as appropriate\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Participate in a variety of programs including bridge design, plan preparation, bridge inspection and bridge rating
+ In addition to analysis of bridge structures, other structures may include retaining walls, box culverts, arch culverts, canopies, sign structures, signal structures, and various types of foundations
+ Coordinate with and supervise junior engineers and CADD technicians as appropriate
**Minimum Requirements**
+ B\.S\. Civil Engineering \(BSCE\) is required
+ 7\-15 years related experience in performing bridge ratings and bridge design calculations
+ Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO LRFR rating methods, and AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation
+ Working knowledge of industry standard bridge design software such as MicroStation V8, CONSPAN, RC\-PIER, Merlin\-Dash, CSI Bridge, and STADD
+ Fluent in the use of MathCAD
+ Ability to travel within AECOM’s Gulf Coast region is a requirement and supporting AECOM’s national bridge program is a plus
+ Experience with Louisiana DOTD policies and procedures
+ Knowledge and experience with VIRTIS or similar bridge rating programs
+ Experience with rail and transit structures is a plus
+ Active in technical professional societies
+ Ability to evaluate alternative solutions, provide innovative solutions and to develop proactive approaches to problems is desirable
+ Professional Engineer \(PE\), State of Louisiana \(or obtain within 6 months\)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Masters in Civil Engineering with a structures emphasis
+ NHI 130055 Certification as a Team Leader
+ Experienced in design or analysis of steel box girders and concrete tub girders
+ Experience in the design or rating of trusses and other complex structures
+ Ability to assist with bridge inspection activities, including climbing bridges
