**Job Summary** We are looking for an experienced Permanent Way Engineer to join our track design team in our Birmingham Office, to undertake the design and management of a wide range of domestic and International permanent way projects\.
We are looking for engineers who are prepared to take responsibility for the complete design process, including developing working relationships with the Client’s representative and those within other railway discipline design teams\. Hence, a good understanding of all rail discipline designs and their respective interfaces is essential as well as good communication skills in both written and verbal form\.
Core responsibilities will involve:
+ Undertaking feasibility track design layouts, producing the supporting written documentation
+ Carrying out outline and detailed track design schemes with the ability to check schemes produced by others
+ Undertaking site visits to record and assess the existing permanent way layout and components and assist in topographical surveys
+ Leading or working within a multi\-disciplinary project team
+ Operate within and contribute to quality standards and procedures
+ Chair or represent the track design team at inter\-disciplinary design reviews and meetings with the Client’s team
Salary Band £30,000 \- £34,000 Closing date for applications: 2nd June 2015
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Degree Educated
+ Proven experience of Permanent Way Design
+ Experience of Microstation
+ Experience of Bentley Railtrack
**Preferred Qualifications** Ideally you will be degree educated along with Chartered status\.
