We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\.
**Job Summary**
The Design and Consulting Services Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water / Wastewater Sr\. Engineer for immediate employment in the Phoenix, AZ office\. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a career in design / engineering, specific to water and wastewater engineering projects, as well as being able to demonstrate a competency in maintaining and growing engineering related services and meeting client’s needs\. The incumbent can look forward to leading AECOM’s water/wastewater business with a variety of clients including industrial, municipal and state agency clients throughout the Southwest Area – NM, AZ, UT and ID\. The successful applicant will work along the Southwest Area leadership team to grow their career in the leadership and leading a fortune 500 company business\. The successful applicant will provide key leadership opportunities in developing and growing engineering, construction, and operations related business throughout the Southwest Area\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Lead in the development of our water and wastewater practice including lead/support in preparing proposals to provide services or obtain funding for engineering project or programs
+ Oversee project teams for design of water / wastewater systems
+ Mentor junior and mid\-level staff
+ Strong familiarity with water and sewer programs in AZ
+ Plans and prepares, or reviews, technical specifications according to the contract documents
+ Using prescribed methods, perform specific assignments related to water and wastewater
+ Preparing drawings and visual aids
+ Knowledge of the installation and construction techniques required in the field and the potential obstacles that may be encountered
+ Verifying that applicable codes and engineering standards / practices are being met
+ Perform submittal reviews, design support, schedule preparation / updating, compliance support for AECOM's Quality Management System \(QMS\)
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering\.
+ Minimum 12 years of relevant design and construction management experience and technical knowledge in water and wastewater related projects including piping and conveyance systems, treatment facilities, pump and lift stations, storm drainage conveyance projects, water yield projects, green infrastructure, irrigation projects, mining projects, and other municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects\. Also includes planning studies, conditions assessment, systems analysis, and rehabilitation projects\.
+ Team leadership experience supervising engineers, CAD technicians, surveyors and field inspectors\.
+ Experience collaborating on multidisciplinary projects\.
+ Business development experience including client relations, proposal preparation, and professional leadership activities\.
+ Professional Engineer registration in NM or the ability to obtain is required\.
+ Capable of functioning with spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software plus industry specific water and wastewater platforms including CAD packages\.
+ Must have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in diverse settings\.
+ Valid NM Driver’s License\.
+ This position requires successful completion of the AECOM Project Management Certification program within 6 months of date of hire\. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on\-line through the AECOM Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee\.
