**Job Summary** AECOM is actively seeking a creative, design\-oriented Manager, Mechanical Engineering for immediate employment in the Cleveland, Ohio office\. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate managerial and collaborative experience within a multi\-discipline integrated design practice; creative experience in problem solving and conflict resolution and eloquent design solutions for HVAC and plumbing systems for exciting, challenging projects in health care, higher education and federal government facilities\. Responsibilities will include HVAC and Energy Engineering design, mentoring and weekly scheduling of the staff and quality control/quality assurance of work developed by staff\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ In the absence of the Director of Engineering, assumes Director's responsibilities as it relates to the respective department
+ Reports directly to the Director of Engineering
+ Accountable for the day to day operation and overall profitability of the respective department
+ Assists Director of Engineering in business development, departmental staffing, appraisals, quality control and fiscal planning
+ Delegates and assigns projects and related workload to staff
+ Establishes, maintains and enforces departmental standards
+ Responsible for the overall quality of work developed by his/her respective department
+ Performs the functions of not only project management but, all facets of project design and system application
+ Promotes collaboration between architectural and other engineering disciplines for an integrated design model
+ Target billable hours not to fall below 80%
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
+ Registration and designation as a Professional Engineer required
+ Minimum 10 years of experience in the architectural/engineering field designing the HVAC, controls and plumbing systems for health care, higher education and federal government facilities
+ Technical skills in the application of systems and energy engineering
+ Management experience demonstrating knowledge of collaboration between the architectural and engineering disciplines
+ Knowledge of computerized drafting software such as AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP
+ Performance skills include mentoring and development of mechanical engineering staff, scheduling of the staff, project assignment, quality control/quality assurance for the mechanical and energy engineering group
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Responsible for actingindependently on technical matters pertaining to the field\. Work at this level usually requires extensiveprogressive experience
+ Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits
+ Supervises group of engineers and/ortechnicians, coordinating activities of the unit
+ Licensed professional engineer
+ Member of professional or technical society
