Must have a High Scool Diploma or GED.
This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of full time verifiable experience spray painting and sand blasting in an automotive or industrial setting. A working knowledge of corrosion control methods and processes is required.

Must be available to work any shift and willing to work weekends and other hours as needed.

Job Description: This position will operate the full range of depot fixed, portable and cabinet blasting equipment to clean a wide variety of items in preparation for painting. Protect surfaces that are not to be painted or blasted with appropriate types of masking tapes and covers. Select, mix and apply various paints and preservatives. Operate various powered forklifts up to 30,000 pound capacity in open and confined spaces.
Essential Responsibilities include:
1. Coat surfaces of contract units with primer, paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other materials using brushes, rollers, spray fans and other devices.
2. Remove old paints using a liquid paint remover, scraper or plastic/sand media blasting techniques.
3. Smoothes surface with sandpaper and steel wool.
4. Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to surface and provides corrosion control methods to customer specifications.
5. Masks and cover portions of surfaces not to be painted.
6. Paints insignia, letters or numerals on vehicle surface using stencils.
7. Uses gloss and semi-gloss, enamels and lacquers.
8. Paints and redecorates facilities, vehicles, equipment and fixtures.
9. May mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color.
10. Perform routine and non-routine troubleshooting/problem identification and resolution.
11. Perform other duties as assigned and qualified.
Work assignments involve standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, crawling, and crouching in strained and awkward positions for prolonged periods of time. Lift, carry, and set up equipment and components weighing up to 75 pounds.
