**About the Business Line** **Water**
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\.
**Job Summary**
The Design and Consulting Services Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented engineer for immediate employment in the Albuquerque, NM office\. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a applicable experience in the design / engineering, specific to civil engineering projects with emphasis in water and wastewater engineering projects\. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects\. The incumbent can look forward to projects with industrial, municipal and state agency clients in NM and throughout the Southwest Area including the states of AZ, UT and ID\. The successful applicant will also have opportunities to grow their career towards a leadership position in the professional engineering business through the support and development of the Southwest Area Water Business Unit strategic plans\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Familiarity with water and sewer modeling programs
+ Extensive use models, calculations and designs software, and make engineering assumptions
+ Plans and prepares, or reviews, technical specifications according to the contract documents
+ Using prescribed methods, perform specific assignments related to water and wastewater
+ Preparing drawings and visual aids
+ Knowledge of the installation and construction techniques required in the field and the potential obstacles that may be encountered
+ Verifying that applicable codes and engineering standards / practices are being met
+ Perform submittal reviews, design support, schedule preparation / updating, compliance support for AECOM's Quality Management System \(QMS\)
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or appropriate discipline\.
+ Minimum two years of relevant design experience in water/wastewater projects\. This experience may include one or more of the following areas \- water and wastewater piping systems, water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump and lift stations, storm drainage conveyance projects, water yield projects, irrigation projects, mining projects, and other pipeline projects\.
+ Individuals with Master's or PhD degree in related engineering discipline with no experience may enter at this level\.
+ Capable of functioning with spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software\.
+ Knowledge of water and wastewater systems\.
+ Must have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams\.
+ Valid NM Driver’s License\.
+ Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position \(examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, Microstation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models\)\.
