• Hands-on experience with the installation, test and/or repair of submarine C4I/C5I and/or NC3 electrical/electronic systems/equipment, to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training.
• Position may require travel.
• Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Job Description: AECOM is seeking an ECI Writer to join our team supporting our SPAWAR customer on the government site at St Juliens Creek in Portsmouth, VA. The successful candidate will develop, revise and maintain submarine imaging system Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs).
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Primary responsibility is the development, revision, and maintenance of submarine NPES systems (acoustic, combat control, electronic warfare, and imaging) Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs).
2. Prepares, delivers and submits ECIs, technical papers and engineering studies/recommendations.
3. Plans, schedules, tracks, and reports ECI development products and services.
4. Provides a weekly/monthly ECI development status report input for relevant task orders in a timely manner.
5. Coordinates and works closely with other engineering, technical, logistics, and program management disciplines to define the requirements for the ECI.
6. Interprets and analyzes engineering change proposals (ECPs), ship alterations (SHIPALTs), technical documentation, and system/subsystem specifications in order to develop ECIs.
7. Performs direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels at design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with the ECI requirements.
8. May conducts site visits and investigations and provide recommendations to support proposed solutions and alternatives for ECI implementation.
9. Verifies and validates ECIs, engineering documentation standards, and test procedures.
10. Establishes and/or maintains a filing system or databases as needed for tracking ECI project status.
11. May train other engineers on technical issues related to the development, revision, and maintenance of engineering change instructions (ECIs).
12. Responsible for completing assigned ECIs, action items, and input to data calls relating to ECIs in a timely manner.
13. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
