**Job Summary** Our Transportation team currently have a vacancy for a **Consultant Traffic Engineer** with experience of traffic management / traffic engineering scheme design and appraisal\. AECOM are continuing to expand their already substantial team in the North West and we have a vacancy in our Manchester office\.
The successful candidate will be member of an appropriate professional institution and be working towards Chartered status and will have proven design experience delivering to quality, time and budget\. They will have experience of working as part of project teams developing concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs for traffic engineering schemes, urban realm and public transport improvements\. The role would suit a self motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team\.
AECOM’s North West Traffic team has an established track record of successfully delivering major transportation projects across the region, nationally and internationally\. Our city centre offices have multi\-disciplinary transportation design and planning capabilities\. We are now looking to enhance and grow our team with individuals who have a sound technical background and that share our enthusiasm and determination to support an expanding workload\. The team provides concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed design capability as well as associated traffic modelling and scheme assessment services across a wide range of traffic engineering projects\. It also supports other AECOM business lines where their projects have a highway interface\.
Our Traffic and Local Roads team is involved in a number of high profile projects with major public and private sector clients\. Our position on a number of significant regional and national Transportation Frameworks provides AECOM with excellent opportunities across the local government / public sector market ensuring an exciting future for the team\. **Minimum Requirements** • Experience of undertaking a range of traffic engineering design projects\.
• Excellent technical and communication skills\.
• Demonstrable experience in traffic design at concept, feasibility and preliminary stages\.
• Understanding of Health and Safety\.
• Experience in traffic signal design, cycling, walking, road safety, public transport and parking design\.
• Demonstrable application of the Traffic Signs Regulations and Traffic Signs Manuals\.
• Ability to deal with clients and scheme stakeholders\.
• Reasonable geographical flexibility to support project and business requirements\.
**Preferred Qualifications** • A graduate or equivalent in an associated engineering field Ideally a member of ICE, CIHT or IHE and working towards incorporated or chartered status\.
