**About the Business Line** **Water**
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\.
**Job Summary** We are looking to recruit a **Drainage Engineer** to join our busy Highways Infrastructure team in Birmingham \(Opportunities also exist in our St Albans and Croydon Offices\)\. The team tackles a wide variety of projects located both in the UK and overseas and are currently involved in the drainage engineering aspects of major highways projects in the UK\. This is an ideal opportunity for a suitably experienced Engineer to develop his or her career and assist in the technical direction and future development of this team\.
+ Work under the direction of Team Leader
+ Actively participate in developing a safety culture in the team
+ Assist in the technical feasibility/design for highways and infrastructure projects in the disciplines of drainage, flooding, utilities and sustainability\.
+ Member of a small project team assisting with liaison with the project client and represent the team internally and externally at an appropriate level\.
+ Produce high quality work in accordance with client’s brief and to agreed programme and budget/margin\.
+ Prepare technical reports and specifications and check work/specifications of fellow team members\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Experience of highways and infrastructure projects would be an advantage\.
+ Some knowledge of drainage design standards would be an advantage\.
+ Creative flair and energy\.
+ Enthusiasm to develop new skills\.
+ Willingness to travel for work\.
+ Some knowledge of other work streams including transportation, geotechnical/geo\-environmental engineering and river and ground modelling would be an advantage\.
+ Commitment to CPD and self\-learning\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Relevant degree, working towards chartered status, membership of appropriate institution \(MICE, MCIHT or MCIWEM\)\. However, applications from those with an appropriate mix of academic qualifications and practical experience will be considered\.
+ Computer software literate including MSWord, MSExcel, WinDes \( Microdrainage\) and PDS or MX and CAD at advanced level\.
