Job Description: AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented GIS Specialist for immediate employment for the Chattanooga, TN office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
• Conduct editing procedures in ArcMap, working with ArcSDE versioned, enterprise geodatabases, and formatting data to the Spatial Database Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE) data model standards, creating and maintaining Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) metadata format, working with users to troubleshoot ArcMap and ArcCatalog operational processes, entry of data into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases using techniques such as coordinate geometry scanning and georeferencing of images, automatic conversion to vectors and conversion of other sources of digital data
• Provide technical support for the creation and visualization of data layers and map products using ArcGIS software products
• Update the GIS master database layers for spatial geometry and attributes and the metadata associated with each GIS data layer
• Generate/regenerate standard map products and maintain, update and document GIS data standards and the specifications for digital data deliverables
• Conduct and consult on data needs assessments
• Perform ad hoc analyses and create ad hoc map products
• Review technical requirements to meet data development objectives and perform quality assurance on data deliverables received for inclusion in the GIS
• Provide consultation for GIS strategic planning and resolution of issues, technical assistance and training and liaison support with Installation GI&S Manager and other installation clients
• Manage GIS web site content and other systems and maintain a GIS Program Binder on-line and hardcopy detailing documentation that captures the processes and actions involved in completing assigned duties listed above
• Manage and manipulate complex data in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel
• Perform parametric and non-parametric statistical analyses of various datasets
