• Minimum of 4 years of relevant and progressive experience related to VDI
• Experience with VMware Horizon 6
• Experience with Nutanix
• In-depth experience with: VMware ESX 5.0 / 5.5,Windows Server 2008/2012, Windows 7 & Windows 8, TCP/IP, DNS, Local Area Networking, Citrix XenDesktop
• Experience at the Tier 3 and 4 level
• Experience with provisioning virtual servers in VMware
• Thin and Zero Client using Virtual Desktop Interface Technology
• Storage Experience (NetApp, EMC)
• Cisco Networking
• Excellent at documenting network designs (MS Visio)
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent documentation skills
• Detail and process oriented
It is highly desirable that candidates have:
• Skill in using analytics, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot issues and find the best solutions to overcome challenges
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
• Previous experience supporting a Federal Government Agency
• VMWare certification
• Linux RedHat Virtualization Certification
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional

Job Description: AECOM has an immediate opportunity for a VDI System Administrator to support a Federal Agency with the maintenance and operation of their VDI environment providing both local and remote access to a number of published enterprise applications.
The system administrator will be responsible for the support of the existing aging platform that is nearing end of life while a new system based on VMware Horizon 6 running on a Nutanix platform is tested and deployed in production. Once testing and user acceptance is complete, users will be migrated to the new system, and the existing system one will be decommissioned.
You will continue to provide support for the new system:
• The system is used to provide secure access to the agencies mission critical applications without having to deploy additional government owned workstations
• At launch, the new environment will be capable of supporting 500 simultaneous users
• The system is designed to rapidly scale the maximum number of simultaneous users to 5,000.
• The environment, using Horizon software, supports the: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Apple iOS devices (iPad & iPhone)
