Our global network of top\-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries\. **Job Summary** We are currently seeking a full time Engineer \(Lighting Design\) to work from either our Newcastle or Glasgow office to enhance the recently created teams within the respective offices\. AECOM are expanding their lighting design team following several project wins\. The AECOM lighting team have an established track record of successfully delivering major lighting and electrical infrastructure schemes for highways, structures, railways and ports\. Both our offices in Glasgow and Newcastle have good transport links and accommodate a multidisciplinary transportation design centre\. We are now looking to enhance and grow our lighting team with an individual with a sound technical background and share our enthusiasm and determination to support our expanding workload\. This opportunity is available at either our Glasgow or Newcastle offices\. The team is involved in local, national and international lighting design projects with a variety of clients\. Our services to our clients include 2D and 3D lighting designs, conceptual designs, feasibility studies, detailed designs and engaging with our clients regarding energy saving and carbon reduction\. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include Transport for London, Centro and Ashgal in the Middle East\. Our current portfolio of works comprises a diverse mix lighting projects\. An example of the projects that our lighting team are working on are: + Lighting and M&E design of Hackney Central Station + Hanger Lane Underpass LED lighting Scheme + LED lantern role out for Transport for London \(NW Area\) + Jazan Economic City + Riyadh Metro + M10 St Petersburg Russia Design Review There many other exciting new prospects throughout the UK and the Middle East for our Lighting Team\. **Minimum Requirements** + Must be able to produce lighting designs for a number of differing scenarios from road to architectural lighting in accordance with British Standards through the use of industry standard software such as Lighting Reality\. + Must be able to produce designs in accordance with specifications provided by our clients or initial project guidance without mentoring from other members of staff, but still respond to positive input from others\. + Must be able to assist with queries about projects, irrelevant of who is involved\. A 'Can Do' attitude is positively encouraged\. + An understanding of electrical terms and relevant documentation is required such as BS7671 17th Edition and the ILP's own documentation\. + Solid experience within exterior lighting design, preferably street lighting but any lighting design background will be considered\. + Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills must be able to take instruction and work as part of a team toward a common goal, yet when required work without any or limited guidance or input from other team members or other staff\. **Preferred Qualifications** + Completion of at least the first part of the Institution of Lighting Professionals Exterior Lighting Diploma or an equivalent specific lighting design training\. + Ordinary National Certificate in Civil Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar is preferred but not mandatory **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
