Job Description: URS Corporation is seeking a LAW Shift Operations Manager to be based out of our Richland, WA location.
JOB SUMMARY
Low Activity Waste (LAW) Shift Operations Manager — The LAW Shift Operations Manager will be directly responsible for coordinating operations and maintenance activities for plant systems and equipment turned over from Construction.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
Under direction performs complex assignments within approved schedules and budgets. Utilizes independent decision making regarding resolution of problems. Supervises assigned personnel, including assigning complex work, setting work priorities, evaluations, and training.
Waste Treatment and Immobilization LAW Shift Operations Manager performs the following duties:
- Understand system design and operation, including nuclear safety, environmental, safety, and health aspects and regulatory conformance
- Support control of fieldwork in assigned areas, including integration of project activities, repairs, and equipment operations activities.
- Complete required training and maintain qualifications associated with assignments
- Support operations, maintenance, and commissioning of the WTP Facilities
- Remain apprised of operational status and ongoing modification activities
- Develop facility related procedures and work instructions
- Develop facility related training materials and support training implementation
- Direct field activities and utilization of project resources (personnel & materials)
- Supervise assigned personnel in the completion of complex work
- Review Project design and other documents for operations, maintenance, and testing impacts and providing alternative solutions
- Interface with subcontractors, vendors, and project support groups
- Identify deficiencies and initiate corrective actions
- Ensures timely and accurate oral and written technical reports on assigned activities
- Perform other activities as assigned to support WTP Project needs
This position reports to WTP LAW Operations Lead (LAW Facility Operations Manager)
