**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** AECOM is seeking a full\-time **Geologist I** professional in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania office location\.
Responsibilities include:
+ Collect groundwater sampling using various methods
+ Collect water quality measurements
+ Detailed field documentation and field activity logs
+ Collection of soil samples using hand methods, drilling rig, and direct push technology
+ Perform classification of soils and rock
+ Research site specific and regional geology
+ Write contractor scopes of work and contributes sections to work plans and reports
+ Executes field activities in accordance with approved plans and specifications
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors of Science degree in Geology, Earth Science, Environmental Geology, Geoscience, Environmental Science or related field
+ 0\-3 years experience
+ Working knowledge of geologic principles and interpretations of subsurface conditions
+ General understanding of contaminant migration in the subsurface
+ General familiarity with environmental data collected and field documentation
+ Knowledgeable of hand\-held global positioning systems
+ Knowledgeable of field instrument usage and calibration
+ Familiar with monitoring well installations, contractor supervision, and direct push technology sampling
+ A valid drivers license required
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Familiarization with light construction sites/hands\-on skills a plus, but not required
+ Candidate with experience with GPS units, and data management \(including GIS\) skills a plus, but not required
+ Report preparation and editing experience is strongly preferred, but not required
+ Minimum of one year of field/office experience preferred, but not required
+ Current OSHA 40\-hour HAZWOPER training preferred, but not required
