Job Description: AECOM has an immediate opportunity for a Vulnerability Mitigation Team Lead (SME) Subject Matter Expert with a strong background in Virtualization, Windows, Linux, and Security to support a large government agency's capabilities in Washington, D.C (Union Station / Red Line).
This operational role will act as the team lead in support of the agency’s efforts to mitigate security vulnerabilities in the environment. This position covers work that is highly complex and varied in nature and would be recognized as an expert within this discipline, providing strategic direction, guidance and integration of products and services. Also recommends enterprise wide standards, guidelines, and procedures for server /equipment or may recommend the enterprise wide server technical maintenance changes, including the redesign of infrastructure components.
Provides consultation services to our government client and is a key contributor to solving difficult technical problems with domain expertise.
Assists with technical planning, internal and external reporting of analysis to support project decision making. Responsible for troubleshooting server problems as reported by users. Provide technical expertise and advice to various areas of the enterprise in the development of information technology solutions and in support of Tier 2 and 3. Responsible for documenting solutions to problems as needed.
The position will also require occasional weekend work as part of a formal change control process and occasional after hours work to respond to any issues when required. A successful candidate must be willing and capable of performing hands on remote access management activities and be responsible for those support activities within the team. Success in this role demands great customer service skills, strong technical knowledge and, excellent organizational skills.
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Providing quick solutions to complex incidents
• Understanding the business requirements and coming up with designs/solutions to be implemented within the customer environment
• Producing root cause analysis documents, project documentation, and status reports to management
• Clearly articulating and demonstrating the system capabilities to application and system teams
• Assessing and performing upgrades/patches to the system management environment (following all of the agencies Change Management Processes)
