The successful candidate will have a minimum of one (1) year recent and related forklift operating experience. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds daily. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 40 to 45 pounds. Requires the ability to bend, stoop, crawl, climb and stand. Must have a valid a driver's license. Successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a forklift license. Must be able to pass physical. This position requires a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Must be available for any shift. Willing to work weekends and other hours as needed. "Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English" Please note: Work on this contract is performed at the Sierra Army Depot located in Herlong California. Job Description: This position operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds. The operator is responsible for preparing and arranging materials and products for distribution and storage. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Ensures that all requirements for inspection and accountability of products are maintained and free of damage. 2. Manages all storage operations to include warehouse configurations, locator identification systems, and material handling operations. Reports quality variances. 3. Responsible for accurate records and reports for inventory control and security, to include, requisitioning of all parts and materials required to support work site maintenance operation. 4. Conforms to physical inventory procedures and schedules. Inventories are to be conducted in accordance with requirements of applicable task order regulations. 5. Responsible for tracking Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Property issue in support of contract. 6. Comply with all applicable contractual programs and regulations, i.e. tools, safety, security, HAZMAT, support equipment, housekeeping and FOD prevention programs. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms. Works around non-hazardous materials/waste lifting, stooping, crawling, bending, and carrying. Constant exposure to various forms of dust to include rubber dust, dust from steel shot, lime dust, garnet and sand. Constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
