GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere\. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world\. GSS supports the U\.S\. Government, non\-U\.S\. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support\. **Job Summary** Reviews and analyzes translated foreign language source material\. Reviews and approves reports\. Assigned broad area of translation responsibility and may delegate portions of work to lower level personnel\. Translates advanced level recorded materials including audio and videotaped programs and technical discussions\. Develops and implements translation methodology and quality control procedures and standards\. Responsible for development and review of finished work\. Plans work and tracks status of projects\. Provides monitoring, selection, translation, transcription, source discovery, and summary/gist services\. Performs quality control of all foreign language translations and transcriptions\. Develops working aids for linguists\. Leads and coordinates linguist work\. Interfaces with Leadership\. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and seven to nine years of relevant experience\. **Minimum Requirements** • Verifiable records of birth and residency through university age in country of interest • Verifiable fluency \(ILR 4/4\+\) in Farsi or one or more Arabic dialects: Moroccan, Egyptian, Sudanese, Lebanese, Iraqi, Jordanian, Palestinian, Saudi, or Yemeni • Demonstrated ability to write and speak in clear and concise grammar and punctuation in specified language • Written and oral fluency \(ILR 4/4\+\) in English and an ability to pass AECOM’s language testing • Ability to discern and select audio, video, and/or Internet items responsive to a set list of requirements for translation and processing • Ability to discern information of value for the mission and write an abstract in a succinct, understandable format in English • Verifiable proficiency with computers, Microsoft Word, and the Internet Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in any field \(English, Specified Language, and technical disciplines are preferred\) Clearance Requirement: • None **Preferred Qualifications** • Candidates who meet the requirements of the position and reside in the Middle East are preferred for consideration • In\-depth knowledge of Middle Eastern or East African affairs, media, and cultural specific nuances • Verifiable prior work experience in a related substantive field • Ability to use critical thinking/analytic skills to process large amounts of information, to detect important factors and elements **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
