More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line**  **Environment** Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\. **Job Summary** The Design and Consulting Services Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented geologist for immediate employment in the Salt Lake City, UT office\. The appropriately qualified applicant will be involved in geological investigations and design specific to environmental remediation and energy, water, and wastewater infrastructure\. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects\. The incumbent can look forward to projects including industrial, municipal, utility and state agency clients throughout the region\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Work with mapping software such as Surfer + Collect soil and groundwater samples for subsequent analysis by a laboratory + Research process equipment and coordinate with equipment suppliers + Interpret the laboratory results of sample data collected in the field + Prepare reports or sections of reports documenting the findings of field investigations, including data tabulation + Use prescribed methods, performs specific assignments related to design and review projects + Develop drawings and visual aids + Operate and maintain soil and groundwater remediation systems + Research regulatory agency requirements and prepare permit application packages + Verify that applicable codes and geological standards / practices are being met on various reports submitted by other consultants + Support to project managers with submittal review, design support, schedule preparation / updating, compliance support for AECOM's Quality Management System \(QMS\) + Assist with proposals to provide services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's or Master's degree in geology, geophysics, or earth science + 2\-5 years of experience in geology, geophysics or earth science + Knowledge commensurate with a bachelor's degree in geology or geophysics + Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and other standard office software + Fundamental knowledge of geological principles including hydrogeology, physical geology stratigraphy, structural geology, geomorphology, environmental geology and geophysics + Working knowledge of computer mapping, drawing, and geographic information systems software + Ability to both speak and write English well + Ability to work well in teams and get along with coworkers + Qualified to take PG/RG exam when work requirement is satisfied, 40\-hr HAZWOPER **Preferred Qualifications** + Working knowledge of Surfer + Basic knowledge of environmental regulations \(CERCLA, RCRA, etc\.\) + Ability to apply statistical methods to environmental data + Advanced spreadsheet skills, including pivot tables, array formulas, and scripts + Ability to work in the field for up to two weeks + Willingness to do whatever needs to be done to make projects successful + Commitment to quality and attention to detail + Curious nature **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
