High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent. 2. Ten years of experience in Facilities Maintenance as a technician, planner, specialist, or a related technical role in a complex pharmaceutical, manufacturing or industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent trade school credentials preferred. 2. Four years of experience in a Lead or Supervisory role. 3. Strong aptitude in areas such as HVAC, industrial electrical and/or utility plant operating systems. 4. Proficiency in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel. 5. Strong working knowledge of Life Safety and Critical Power Systems. 6. Predictive maintenance experience, including areas such as labor optimization, reliability based maintenance (RBM) and life cycle studies. 7. Vibration Analysis training and certification. 8. Experience in a Pharmaceutical Laboratory environment. 9. Training and experience in Honeywell and/or Siemens building automation systems 10. Possess a certification or formal training from facility maintenance organizations such as IFMA, AFE or BOMA Additional Information: • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. • This position may require a valid Driver’s License. • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location. • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules. Other Attributes: • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends. Physical Requirements: • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement. • Some tasks will require the ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday. • Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen. • Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents. • Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other URS, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations. • Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations. • Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line. • Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations. • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. Job Description: URS, an AECOM company, is seeking a Facility Maintenance Supervisor in Groton, CT! Typical work hours are Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; hours may vary based on business demand. Reporting to the Program Manager, the position is responsible for working with the maintenance staff to perform work and oversee day-to-day activities for facility support services related to safety, building automation, facility maintenance, projects, general maintenance as well as preventative and reliability based maintenance programs. Essential Functions: • Supervises, trains, develops and disciplines subordinate staff • Supervises repairs, modifications, and predictive/preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities equipment, fixtures, and systems • Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends facilities reliability. • Estimates, plans and executes repair and high priority work orders and repair/maintenance projects • Provides recommendations for corrective action in regards to facilities equipment • Ensures compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards on all work (LOTO, Confined Space, NFPA 70E, and Building Codes). • Conducts safety training and actively participates in Safety Committee meetings and building safety audits • Reads and interprets blue prints, schematics and one-line drawings • Utilizes computer maintenance management system (CMMS) to review and analyze work trends and performance. • Works with and oversees subcontractor activities • Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions. • Complies with established Environmental, Safety and Health (EH&S) programs. • Performs under minimal supervision and exercises independent judgment in problem resolution • Adjusts to changing conditions and occasionally works off-shift, holidays, and weekends • Understands and complies with company policies • Maintains high level of customer interaction and satisfaction. • Performs additional duties as directed With nearly 100,000 employees — including architects, engineers, designers, planners, scientists and management and construction services professionals — serving clients in more than 150 countries around the world following the acquisition of URS, AECOM is a premier, fully integrated infrastructure and support services firm.
