Our global network of top\-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries\. **Job Summary** AECOM are currently expanding our Local Roads Team in London following several major project wins across the UK and Europe\. We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Road Safety Engineer in our Croydon team\. The successful candidate will be required to undertake Collision Analysis studies, Road Safety Audits \(in accordance with HD19/15\) and Non\-Motorised User Audits \(in accordance with HD42/05\)\. Highways design and collision investigation \(including prevention studies\) experience is essential\. Experience in related Road Safety and Traffic Engineering fields such as Traffic Calming, Bus and Cycle Lanes, Local Safety Schemes, Traffic Signal, Home Zone and Safer Routes to School design would be a particular advantage\. The role would suit a self\-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team\. The team will be located in Croydon and form part of the Local Roads team which has an established track record of successfully delivering traffic engineering projects\. Croydon is one of the fastest growing areas in London with excellent transport links and is only 12 minutes to Central London\. Our modern office has multi\-disciplinary transportation design and planning capability\. We are now looking to enhance and grow this team with individuals with a sound technical background that share our enthusiasm and determination to support our expanding workload and clients\. Our team provides road safety expertise to support scheme development for a wide range of traffic engineering projects and also supports other AECOM business lines where their projects have a traffic interface\. Our Local Roads Team is involved in a number of high profile projects with a variety of clients in the UK, Europe, Middle East and other global locations\. The team also comprises traffic modelling, preliminary and detailed design expertise and we are now looking to enhance and grow our road safety capability within the team\. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include various London Boroughs and Local Authorities in the south east\. We also have a proven track record of successfully delivering projects for Transport for London and several international Clients\. Job responsibilities: The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the Job / Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard: • Satisfy the requirements for a RS Team Leader or Member in accordance with HD19/15 and be looking to progress their career in road safety\. • Direct dealing with clients, consultants and suppliers\. • Thorough and knowledgeable in urban and rural road safety issues, solutions and products\. • Open to opportunities for involvement in the design and assessment of a diverse range of traffic engineering schemes, therefore a broad experience of traffic engineering is preferred\. • Preparation of detailed client briefs or fee proposals for Manager Approval and contribute to major bids\. • Sharing knowledge and supporting team managers in mentoring junior staff\. • Undertaking Health & Safety duties; ensuring a safe and healthy working environment and fulfilling all responsibilities for health and safety in design\.
