**About the Business Line** **Water**
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\.
**Job Summary**
The AECOM Water Division is actively seeking a creative Highway Drainage Engineer for immediate employment in the Phoenix, AZ office\. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate progressive experience in drainage engineering for urban and rural transportation improvement projects\. Experience with Design\-Build is a plus\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Highway/roadway drainage design, detailing and plan development
+ Managing drainage\-related project tasks, supervising technical staff, working independently on smaller projects and working in fast\-paced team atmosphere on larger projects
+ Working in a team atmosphere on multi\-disciplinary study and final design projects
+ Involvement in Design\-Build projects in Arizona and the mountain\-west region
+ Preparing calculations and design reports
+ Assisting in preparing schedule and budget requirements
+ Interacting with clients to gather information and discuss project requirements
+ Interacting with multidiscipline and multi\- office teams within AECOM
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or appropriate discipline
+ Minimum 5\-10 years of relevant design experience in onsite and offsite drainage design and erosion control
+ Experience working with a multi\-discipline highway design team including developing drainage\-related construction drawings, construction cost estimating and writing construction specifications
+ Strong written and verbal communication and organization skills
+ Ability to work independently and with others on multiple simultaneous projects
+ Experience with commonly\-used drainage design and plan production software such as Microstation, InRoads, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC\-RAS, HEC\-1/HEC\-HMS, HY\-8, CulvertMaster, etc\.
+ Professional Engineering License in AZ and NM or able to obtain license in AZ and NM within six months
+ Valid Driver's License
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Ability to perform highway/roadway drainage design, detailing and plan development
+ Ability to Prepare calculations and design reports
+ Ability to assist in preparing schedule and budget requirements
+ Ability to interact with clients to gather information and discuss project requirements
+ Ability to research and ensure assignments meet regulatory and industry codes, laws and requirements as well as client requirements
+ Ability to determine permitting requirements for the particular type of work being designed for the location in which it is to be constructed
+ Willingness to mentor and train junior staff
+ Willingness to participate in business development by assisting in development of proposals and ability to participated in project interviews
